MARKET UPDATE
Managing Director level recruiting continues to drive the Investment Banking recruiting market. This past week the following moves were announced:
JP Morgan has hired healthcare banker Stephen Lanese from Truist.
Derek Bentley has joined Solomon Partners as Head of Energy Transition.
Deutsche Bank has rehired Justin Smolkin to lead technology, media and telecommunications equity capital markets.
Mizuho has promoted Andy Lazlo to head TMT Investment Banking. Rich Gallivan will be promoted to Vice Chairman.
Santander has hired Andrew Horn from Nomura and Brian Anton from Citigroup.
WORDS OF WISDOM
Memorial Day is approaching which means the lateral job market will slow. The market usually slows from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We generally see a slight uptick from Labor Day to Halloween and then things slow down again. If you are looking to move this year now is the time to ramp up your search. For those unemployed with offers it is probably best to accept the offer.
