A Brief, Reliable, Rundown of the Investment Banking Recruiting Market.

MARKET UPDATE

Following the Memorial Day holiday expect recruiting activity to be slow. It is a good week to work on your resume and deal sheet. Having a robust deal sheet is very helpful for Managing Directors to VPs.

Andrew “Cal” Callaway is leaving his post as Global Head of Healthcare and returning to Deutsche Bank.

Barclays hired David King as its new head of technology M&A. Mr King is joining from BAML.

Software Managing Director Yogesh Amle has joined Oppenheimer & Co. Mr Amle will be Co-Heading Infrastructure Software and be based out of their San Francisco office.

WORDS OF WISDOM

Young bankers get hung up on brand name. Often I hear from newly minted Associates, “I want to join a bulge bracket” or even more shortsighted, “I only want to hear about bulge bracket opportunities”. Contempt prior to investigation is ignorance. Some of the best bankers I know are middle market bankers.

HOT JOBS

Vice President Healthcare Bulge Bracket

Associate Healthcare Bulge Bracket

Vice President Business and Tech Services Elite Boutique

Directors and VPs needed: AdTEch, EdTech, HR Tech, MarTech

Have a great week. I am traveling this week and may be slow to respond.
