A Brief, Reliable, Rundown of the Investment Banking Recruiting Market.

MARKET UPDATE

NEW JOBS

It has been well-documented that deal flow is picking up, and 2025 is predicted to be a good year for Wall Street. We are in the beginning of a bullish M&A market. Here are a few things to consider:

  1. It is better to move at the beginning of a bullish market than at the tail of a cycle. The last in, first out scenario (LIFO) is real.

  2. The brand is important, but not everything. You don't work for the brand; you work for your boss. Mentorship & Culture are more important than brand.

  3. Trust is the biggest consideration when moving. Do you trust the people you work for? Trust your intuition. Trust yourself.

  4. Experienced associates/ VPs and directors need to factor in the runway for promotion. The market will slow down, and if there is no runway, you will not get promoted

  5. Associates need deal reps.

  6. Ask yourself if you are on the right platform for the coming wave of deal flow.
